To provide a continuous casting method which prevents clogging of a molten steel flow passage and which eliminates nonuniform flow of molten steel, and also to provide a sliding nozzle used in the method.
In this continuous casting method, a port 27 for blowing an inert gas to molten steel passing through the sliding nozzle 2 is arranged in the inner circumference of a molten metal feeding hole of the sliding nozzle, whose purpose is for adjusting the molten steel supply from a tundish to a casting mold. Then, the inert gas blowing port is divided in the sliding direction of the sliding nozzle by a plane in which the center axis 28 of the molten metal feeding hole is included and in which a line crossing the sliding face of the sliding nozzle is vertical to the sliding direction; thus, the blowing quantity of the inert gas is adjusted for each blowing port 27a, 27b to perform casting.
