Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method which can prevent occurrence of traversal cracks of a cast piece in a continuous casting machine, and increase casting speed.SOLUTION: A continuous casting method applies pressure to a cast piece 1 extracted from a mold 2, when thickness of the cast piece 1 at a bottom edge of the mold 2 in the continuous casting machine is D(mm) and thickness of the cast piece 1 at a position 3 m below hot metal surface along the extraction direction of the cast piece 1 is D(mm), so as to satisfy 100×(D-D)/D≥5%. A secondary cooling water is sprayed to the cast piece 1 between the bottom edge of the mold 2 and a bottom edge of a vertical part to keep surface temperature of the cast piece 1 at 100+(Ar1 transformation point/2)+(Ar3 transformation point/2)(°C) or less for 40 seconds or more, and then the cast piece 1 is heated again to 100+Ac3 transformation point(°C) or more.
