Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting powder and a continuous casting method, with which a casting piece of good quality can be obtained, having no failure such as a vertical cracking and an entrainment of powder or bubble on a cast piece surface.
SOLUTION: Continuous casting is carried out by using a powder composed of; CaO, SiO2, Al2, O2 and fluorine compound as a main component, and ratio of (CaO)h containing rate and SiO2 containing rate (CaO)h/SiO2 is 0.9-1.9, containing 5-60% CaF2, and 3-40% Al2O3, viscosity at 1,300°C is 1.5 poise or more. In this case, (CaO)h=T.CaO-F×(56/38) is to be satisfied.
