Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air oxidation of an in-molten steel metal ingredient immediately after a start of injection or at an initial stage of a start of injection of molten steel from a ladle to a tundish, and to prevent an ingredient change due to carbon pickup or a tundish-flux composition change in this duration by preventing the entrainment of flux.SOLUTION: A continuous casting start method for manufacturing high cleanliness steel comprises allowing, upon injection of molten steel from a ladle into a tundish, a liquid combustible substance to exist in the tundish and burning the liquid combustible substance in time with the injection of molten steel into the tundish.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
