PURPOSE: To effectively granulate a lot of particulates by continuously feeding a particulate raw material into a granulation chamber and continuously discharging the granulated matter from an opening formed in the wall part of the granulation chamber at an elevation nearly equal to that of the top of a swirling fluidized bed of particulates formed in the granulation chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Particulates 20 are fed into a vertical cylindrical granulation chamber 3 and rotational force is given the particulates 20 to form a swirling fluidized bed of the particulates in the bottom part in the granulation chamber 3 and liquid is fed from a liquid feeder 8 above to form pseudo particles in the swirling fluidized bed of the particulates. At this time, a particulate raw material is continuously fed into the granulation chamber 3 by a transfer device 13 and a chute 14, etc., and the granulated matter 21 is continuously discharged from an opening 9 formed in the wall part of the granulation chamber 3 at an elevation nearly equal to that of the top 51 of the swirling fluidized bed of the particulates 20 formed in the granulation chamber 3. As a result, particulates of ores such as iron ores, limestone, cokes, etc., are continuously granulated.
