Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method utilizing the outstanding feature of a vapor phase digester having a zone filled with gas on the liquid level while having merit of a flooded-digesting can in a continuous digesting can for cellulose pulp and their apparatus.
SOLUTION: The slurry comprising chips and cooking liquor is introduced to the top part of the digesting can from the baffle plate type top-separator 132. The liquid level 104 is established above the inversing type top-separator 132. The chips level 137 is established under the inversing type top-separator 132. Pulling out substantially whole of the free liquid from the introduced slurry of ground cellulose fibrous material by pulling out the liquid from at least one place 134 of the baffle plate type top-separator 132 and kraft pulp is pulled out from near the bottom of the digesting can at least 1000 ton/day of speed. The pulling out of the liquid from the top-separator 132 is carried out by setting to introduce a counterflow in the ground cellulose material near the top separator.
