PURPOSE: To provide a continuous drier for board-shaped piece material and a coating device including the continuous drier.

CONSTITUTION: This continuous drier includes a drying chamber 4 [where the piece material is exposed to an air stream while being transported along a transport path P). The coating device consists of the continuous drier which is arranged with an IR radiator 9 along the transport path P and in which the air stream is guided in the drying chamber 4 parallel to the transport plane P opposite to the transport direction of the piece material, a drying station 2 [in which the piece material is coated by photoresist, etc.], and the adjacent drying station 3 [the photoresist is dried and thereafter, the solvent included in the photoresist is evaporated, removed, transported and removed]. As a result, the coating device which is small in size, is of an energy conservation type, has high safety and is capable of executing rapid drying without the impairment of the quality of coating films is obtained.
