To obtain a continuous joint type shape steel, as well as its manufacturing means, which eliminates joint shape defects, bend in rolling, reduction in roll unit requirement, etc., which separately makes a web/lug thickness to a desired arbitrary size in accordance with use and purpose, and which is provided with a constant opening width in the lug tip end of a female joint and also with a non-symmetrical joint having a superior engaging strength.

In the edger mill of an intermediate rolling process in the rolling process of a continuous joint type shape steel with a non-symmetrical joint, only the flange tip end is buckled on the female joint side so as to bend it to the outside of the flange, and then bending is carried out for the flange on the female joint side by a flange bending mill and a finishing niill. As a result, the lug 1bf of the female joint bent in a near circular arc is provided on both sides in the width direction of a web 1a having a prescribed thickness and width, and the continuous joint type shape steel is thereby shaped with a bent part 1s formed on the tip end of the lug and with the width k of its opening constantly formed. The engaging strength is improved through the mesh of the bent part 1s with the male joint 1bm at the time of connecting the female and male joints of this continuous joint type shape steel.
