Abstract:
PURPOSE:To conduct excellent manganese electroplating continuously while maintaining high productivity by restraining electrochemically noble cations contained in a plating bath to a prescribed range, and by introducing a procedure for removing various reaction products out of the bath system. CONSTITUTION:In conducting continuous, non-diaphragm type electroplating using insoluble anode, cations which are electrochemically nobler than manganese are restrained at low content by additon of sulfide such as H2S, or by addition of alkaline earth metal salt to the plating bath, or by controlling the plating bath at a pH 6-8, for example, Cr>300, Zn>300, Sn>100, Fe>100, Cd>100, Co>100, Ni> 100, Pb>100, As>50, Sb>50, Cu>50, Ag>50, all being expressed in ppm. The reaction products accumulated in the bath are removed by the adsorption with activated carbon, by cleaning with ion exchange membrane or with reverse osmotic membrane, or by heating the bath to boil etc.
