Abstract:
To provide a method for producing tetracyclododecenes, aiming at the effective utilization of a high boiling point byproduct and capable of securing a stable continuous operation.
This continuous method for producing tetracyclododecenes having a specific structure comprises (1) a process of reacting 2-norbornenes, cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene with an olefin, (2) a process of separating and recovering the tetracyclododecenes and (3) a process of discarding at least 1 mass % of residual heavy substance to the out of system and recycling the rest.
