Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide possibility of incorporating the process as it is into a linear manufacturing line, wherein the process is to form round chamfering on the end-face periphery of a shaft, by arranging a round chamfering/grinding device in the position close to the way of the transport line.

CONSTITUTION: On a transport line 1, shafts 3 whose end-face periphery is to be chamfered are continuously transported in the direction right across the axis of the shafts linearly one by one at a certain spacing. At this time, a round chamfering/grinding device arranged close to the way of the transport line 1 makes creative grinding of the mentioned periphery into R form, wherein this chamfer continues smoothly to the peripheral surface of each shaft 3. This creative grinding is approx. in a cylinder formed by cutting a centrally narrowed drum in to rings and a certain angle inclined with respect to the transport direction with respect to the axis of the shaft 3 rotating round its own axis during transportation performed by a rotary grinding element 22 in a shape having a surface with rotary grindability in rounded shape at the time the mentioned shaft periphery makes linear contact and movement at a certain angle.
