Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform continuous production of the subject polymer having a taper by polymerizing reactive monomers consisting of a conjugated diene monomer and a vinyl aromatic monomer in the presence of an anionic polymerization initiator under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A reactive monomer mixture comprising (A) 40 to 100 pts.wt. of a conjugated diene monomer and (B) 0 to 60 pts.wt. of at least one of vinyl aromatic monomers is continuously or stepwise introduced into the reactor (C) in the presence of an anionic polymerization initiator, preferably sodium n-hexylmagnesiate in an amount of 0.10 to 20.0 millimoles based on 100g of the monomers, as the ratio of the B component/the A component is increased, further, as the modifier contacting with the above-stated monomers comprising (D) a controller of 1,2-microstructure (one or more randomizing agents) is continuously or stepwise increased to effect the polymerization whereby the objective polymer is obtained.
