Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear deformation working method and a device therefor by which shear deformation for forming a shear deformed structure or a sheared texture can continuously be applied to a metallic thin sheet.
SOLUTION: In this working method for the long-sized metallic sheet to be worked, by using a feeding device for the metallic sheet of generating pressing force P progressing the long-sized metallic sheet PD to be worked [wherein, √3ktw>P>2ktwtan (θ/2) {in the formula, (k), (t) and (w) are respectively the yield shear stress, thickness and width of the metallic sheet PD to be worked, and θ is an angle or refraction}] with a constitution in which plural small diameter rolls (SR) are arranged along the circumferential face of a large diameter roll (CR) arranged at the center and whose surface is roughened so as to increase its coefficient of friction to 0.1 or more the metallic sheet is progressed through a passage in a die provided on the outlet of the small diameter rolls arranged most downstream, and shear is continuously applied to the metallic sheet, by which the shear deformed structure or sheared texture of the metallic sheet is formed.
