PURPOSE: To completely eliminate residual scale and to extend a service life of a wire drawing die by moving linearly a wire rod and descaling it, and thereafter, executing wire drawing of a specific percentage reduction by a roller die, performing a lubricating surface treatment, etc., and executing finish wire drawing.
CONSTITUTION: A wire rod rewound from a pay-off reel is straightened and descaled partially by a roll bender, and thereafter, descaled by mechanical descaling of shot blast, etc. Thereafter, the wire rod W is brought to wire drawing of 5-20% percentage reduction by a roller die, and simultaneously, descaled, and preheated by a heating action. As for the wire rod W, a lubricating surface treatment by zinc phosphate is performed in a state that it is preheated. Subsequently, a reaction type soap treatment by, for instance, a sodium stearate solution, etc., is executed through a washing process. Next, finish wire drawing is executed by a regular die through a drying process. In such a way, conventional vapor preheating also becomes unnecessary, and an excellent effect is obtained not only in the manufacturing process but also in a service life of a finish wire drawing die.
