Title:
CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION EQUIPPED WITH IDLE PULLEY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1163140
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase transmission torque and to reduce the fluctuation of transmission torque by maintaining the gap of an actuation part between a driving wheel connected to an input shaft and a follower wheel connected to an output shaft nearly constant in a bus line direction, and rotatably fixing in a housing. SOLUTION: By maintaining the gap of an actuation part between a driving wheel 1 connected to an input shaft and a follower wheel 2 connected to an output shaft nearly constant in a bus line direction, these one strongly fixed by fixing the same to a housing 3. While adding a pressing force to the driving wheel 1 and the follower wheel 2 by an idle pulley, the idle pulley is moved linearly or along the locus of a circular arc to perform continuously variable transmission. By changing the actuation part diameter of one or more of the driving wheel 1 or the follower wheel 2 monotonously in a bus lien direction, transmission is carried out by smoothly adjusting a position. Further, by setting the gap of an actuation part between the driving wheel 1 and the follower wheel 2 to be smaller by 2 to 20% than an outer diameter for winding an auxiliary ring 5 on an auxiliary wheel 4 when a normal load is applied, position adjustment is facilitated and transmission torque is stabilized.
