To provide a compact continuously variable transmission capable of miniaturizing the transmission by reducing input and output shafts in an axial direction, and capable of simplifying an internal structure.
A planetary gear mechanism 30 is provided on the output shaft 12 on a back surface of a fixing sheave 23 different from a sheave moving device 220 of an input shaft side pulley 20A, and a power component of a counter shaft 13 is transmitted to an outward tooth part 344 provided on an outer peripheral part of a ring gear 34 of the planetary gear mechanism 30 on the output shaft 12 from an outward tooth part 242b1 provided on an outer peripheral part of a sheave moving device 240 of a counter shaft side pulley 20B through an intermediate gear 140. Thus, a large diameter gear (gear train) for transmitting the power component of the counter shaft 13 to the planetary gear mechanism 30 can be dispensed with, the axial direction space on the input and output shafts 11 and 12 can be reduced, and the internal structure is simplified.
