Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission whose components are difficult to break even when a rotation number of an output shaft is rapidly reduced.SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission 1A comprises: an input shaft 2; an output shaft 3; a lever crank mechanism 20 for converting rotation movement of a rotation radius adjustment mechanism 4 into swinging movement of a swing link 18; and a one-way rotation blocking mechanism 17 for transmitting the swinging movement of the swing link 18 to the output shaft 3. The rotation radius adjustment mechanism 4 has: an input element 5 rotating integrally with the input shaft 2; and an adjusting element 7 rotated by a driving force transmitted from an adjusting drive source 14. When there is a difference between the rotation number of the input element 5 and the rotation number of the adjusting element 7, a rotation radius varies. A torque limiter 21 is provided for blocking the driving force transmitted from the adjusting drive source 14, when the driving force transmitted to the adjusting element 7 reaches not less than a predetermined value.
