Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power transmission efficiency in a continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission is equipped with a first ball 20 and a second ball 30 tiltably provided between an input shaft 10 and an output shaft 12; a first disc 40 and a second disc 42 which have friction surfaces capable of transmitting power between the input shaft 10, the first ball 20, and the second ball 30; and a third disc 44 and a second disc 46 which have friction surfaces capable of transmitting power between the output shaft 12, the first ball 20, and the second ball 30. Thrust which the first ball 20 and the second ball 30 receive from the first to forth discs 40, 42, 44, and 46 is cancelled at a contact E between the first ball 20 and the second ball 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
