Abstract:
To provide a continuously variable transmission which is more compact and lower in cost.SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission 1 includes a pressing device 10 for pressing an input disc 3 to the side of an output disc 4 to adjust the surface pressure of a traction part T as a rolling contact part between each of annular raceway surfaces 3a, 4a and the outer peripheral face of each power roller 5. A traction reaction estimation part 43 for estimating traction reaction received by the power roller 5 during the operation of the continuously variable transmission 1 on the basis of a parameter determining the motive force of a linear motion guide 36, is provided on a pressing force control system 40 for the pressing device 10. The pressing force of the pressing device 10 is adjustable on the basis of the traction reaction estimated by the traction reaction estimation part 43.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
