Abstract:
To provide a full-toroidal type continuously variable transmission which is light in weight, compact in a size and low in a cost.SOLUTION: In a continuously variable transmission 1, rotational speed ratios of both discs 3, 4 are changed accompanied by inclinations of a plurality of power rollers 5 arranged between an input disc 3 and an output disc 4 which independently rotate with respect to each other. The continuously variable transmission 1 comprises an annular support body 30 rotatably supported to an input shaft 2 in a state that the support body supports all of the power rollers 5 so as to be inclined, and a single drive unit 40 for rotationally driving the annular support body 30 around an axial line Xof the input shaft 2. A guide mechanism 50 for guiding and moving the power rollers 5 along a prescribed trajectory when the annular support body 30 is rotationally driven is connected to a carriage 8 which rotatably supports the power rollers 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
