Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission that allows an easy improvement in the centering precision of its shaft extending from a torque converter to a forward/reverse changeover mechanism.
SOLUTION: A belt-drive continuously variable transmission 1 transmits the output of a torque converter 2 to an input shaft 14, and outputs it after changing its direction of rotation in a forward/reverse changeover mechanism 16. The input shaft 14 connects with a planetary gear train 18 and has a sun gear 24 at one end. A brake support 38 stores the forward/reverse changeover mechanism 16 and supports the one end of the input shaft 14. The other end of the input shaft 14 is supported through a reaction shaft support 52, whose spigot rib 62 fits it in the opening of the brake support 38.
