The device includes control shaft arranged parallel to cam shaft and installed rotatably in the journal provided in a cam carrier, the CVVL mechanism provided in the control shaft, journal bearing installed in the journal and supporting rotation of the control shaft, and washers attached to the control shaft at both the ends of the journal bearing put therebetween.
