To provide a counter-rotating impeller having large recoverable energy, and a fluid machine.SOLUTION: A counter-rotating impeller 40 comprises first and second impellers 20 and 30 arranged coaxially. The first impeller 20 has an axial flow type impeller 21 and a mixed flow type impeller 22 arranged in an axis direction. The second impeller 30 is a centrifugal impeller that rotates in a direction opposite to a rotational direction of the first impeller 20, and is arranged at a position continuous with the mixed flow type impeller 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
