Title:
CONTRAST COMPOSITION FOR MRI DIAGNOSIS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3729514
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a contract composition capable of being applied to the lower part tissues of a living body and used for MRI (nuclear magnetic resonance image) diagnose.
CONSTITUTION: A contrast composition is characterized by containing free divalent magnesium cations large in an effect for shortening a spin-lattice relaxation time T1 as a paramagnetic substance for imaging with MRI as the main ingredient of the contrast composition. The concentration of the magnesium cations is optimized within a range of 5-50μm/nl so that the contrast agent is brightly expressed in a T1-emphasized image and that the contrast agent is darkly expressed in a T2-emphasized image (T2 is a spin-spin relaxation time). A MRI diagnose highly safe for living bodies can be performed in a fine dose of the manganese ions by directly administering the contrast composition into a living body lower part tissue such as a large intestine, a bladder or an uterus. Since the original brightness of the T2-emphasized image is not interfered within the concentration range, the diagnose of a tumor lesion is not inhibited.
