To provide a dephosphorylation agent of ErbB4, an agent for preventing/treating disease caused by overexpression of the ErbB4, a method for screening a Ptprz agonist-antagonist, etc.
The receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase (Ptprz) gene and a recombinant vector expressing the human Ptprz are used for an agent for preventing/treating the disease caused by the overexpression of the human ErbB4. A test material evaluated by allowing the Ptprz to act on the test material by using a phosphorylated ErbB4 as a substrate, measuring the degree of the dephosphorylation of the ErbB4, and comparing the resultant value with the one in the absence of the test material. A test material is evaluated as a material for promoting the dephosphorylation by the Ptprz when the degree of the dephosphorylation is larger than the one in the absence of the test material and, when the degree is smaller, the test material is evaluated as a material for inhibiting the dephosphorylation by the Ptprz.
