Abstract:

To accomplish quick air discharge without increasing a valve in a control air system for adjusting brake moment of a hydrodynamic retarder.

In order to enhance a control air pressure in a workplace of the retarder, an exhaust valve is closed, a suction valve is opened and compression air from a compression air source is guided through a compression air feeding conduit. In order to reduce the control air pressure in the workplace, the exhaust valve is opened, the suction valve is closed and the compression air from the workplace is conveyed out from the workplace through the compression air conveying out conduit. In addition, in order to completely air-discharge the workplace at a high speed, the compression air can be conveyed out from the workplace through the compression air conveying out conduit and the compression air feeding conduit. The exhaust valve and the suction valve are opened and the compression air feeding conduit is shut off from the compression air source and is connected to a periphery or a pressure tank by an additional shut off valve to a former stage of the suction valve and the compression air source.
