PURPOSE: To prevent emission of combustible gas, for instance, due to trouble of a starter at the time of starting a gas engine and to thereby ensure safe operation of the same, by providing a start detecting means, a starter detecting circuit and a timer that is set into operation when the starter is operated in a gas engine control apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: Output signals of a starter detecting circuit 9 for detecting starting of a starter 2, a start detecting circuit 7 for detecting starting of a gas engine 6 and a timer 10 which is set into operation when the starter 2 is operated are furnished to a control circuit 8 for the engine 6. If the operation of the control apparatus is normal in the state that the engine is stopped, the control circuit 8 at first starts operation of the starter 2 by closing a starter relay 3 under the state that a relay 5 for a gas solenoid valve is OFF and then starts operation of the timer 10. On the other hand, if a starter detecting signal is given during operation of the timer 10, the gas solenoid valve 4 is opened, and when an engine start signal is inputted, operation of the starter 2 is stopped for setting the engine into ordinary operation.
