PURPOSE: To reduce the degradation of the service quality by switching the control channel, where a fault occurs, to an unused channel and switching it to a disconnected channel after previous notice of disconnection and automatic reconnection of a speech channel in the case that this switching is impossible.
CONSTITUTION: A radio communication system consists or an MCA control station 1 and radio stations 1 to n which use m×n channels (ch) having the carriers of m frequencies divided into(n) slots. In this constitution, the control ch where a fault occurs is switched to an unused speech ch; and if this switching is impossible, it is switched to a disconnected speech ch after previous notice of disconnection and automatic reconnection. The call of the disconnected speech ch is assigned in the head of a connection queue for the purpose of performing reconnection, and it is connected to a ch, where speech is terminated, to minimize an effect upon busy speech ch. Thus, the control ch is surely switched at the time of the occurrence of a fault to reduce the degradation in service quality of the communication network.
