PURPOSE: To prevent foul odor when flames are extinguished by operating an extinguishing switch, by controlling elevation of the wick of a kerosene stove of wick type by a motor, and cam switches interlocked with the motor, by the intermediary of a microcomputer.

CONSTITUTION: Cam switches 5 and 6 are closed by the revolution of a motor 8 elevating a wick. A microcomputer 1 is provided with two programs: one of them drives the motor 8 in accordance with the states of cam switches 5 and 6, and the other program stops combustion and holds the motor in the waiting state in case that a fire extinguishing switch 4 is operated to extinguish flames. In the state of steady combustion, the wick is at the top position of rise and the motor 8 is in the stopped state. But when an extinguishing operation is carried out in a kerosene stove, the motor 8 in a halt is started again by the intermediary of a microcomputer 1 and the wick is lowered until the combustion in the kerosene stove is stopped.
