Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the size and weight of a backup battery while preventing deterioration thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The control circuit for secondary backup battery comprises a DC-DC converter 3 for converting an input voltage from a secondary system battery 2 into a predetermined output voltage at an output terminal Vout, a secondary backup battery 4 being charged with a current fed from the DC-DC converter 3, a switch circuit 6 for controlling the voltage being fed from the secondary backup battery 4 to the output terminal Vout, and a comparison circuit 8 for monitoring the output voltage from the secondary backup battery 4. The voltage being fed from the secondary backup battery 4 to the output terminal Vout is controlled by turning the switch circuit 6 ON/OFF based on an output signal from the comparison circuit 8.
