Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve traveling performance by correcting the aimed revolution speed on the basis of the demanded output and the slope of road on engine brake application, when the aimed revolution speed is determined on the basis of the car speed and the engine operation state and the speed ratio is controlled according to the difference between the aimed revolution speed and the actual revolution speed. CONSTITUTION:In a belt-type continuously variable transmission 16, the speed ratio between input and output shafts 18 and 20 is controlled by varying the effective diameters of the variable pulleys 22 and 24 by a speed-ratio adjusting valve apparatus 28, and said speed-ratio adjusting valve apparatus 28 is controlled by a controller 36. Said controller 36 is constituted so that the speed ratio is controlled so that the aimed revolution speed determined on the basis of the car speed and the engine conditions (throttle-valve opening-degree and the engine revolution speed) from the predetermined relation. Further, in the engine-brake traveling state, control is carried-out so that the aimed revolution speed is corrected on the basis of the slope of road and the acceleration speed of a car.
