To provide a control device of an automatic transmission, which quickly turns on a lockup clutch without inducing a shock and prevents fuel consumption performance from being lowered and durability of the lockup clutch from being lowered.
The control device performs steps of: calculating the reduction amount of the rotation speed of an engine needed to absorb the target slip amount of the lockup clutch, calculating a target engagement time of the lockup clutch from the reduction amount and calculating transmission torque of the lockup clutch in such a manner that inertia torque of the engine or the like reaches the maximum in the middle of the calculated target engagement time (S14); calculating a main control amount based on the above calculation (S20); calculating a feedback control amount based on the deviation between the target slip amount and an actual slip amount (S30); calculating a learning correction amount from the calculated feedback control amount (S34); and controlling a supply oil pressure to the lockup clutch based on a value obtained by correcting the main control amount with the learning correction amount (S20).
