PURPOSE: To enable transmission control to be conducted with excellent stability and responsiveness by correcting an engaging pressure of one of friction engaging elements of a main transmission and an auxiliary transmission through learning control based on a deviation of an actual transmission progress state against a target value.
CONSTITUTION: In automatic control from a second speed to a third speed, an engaging pressure Ps of a clutch KO directly affecting a gear ratio progress Gs of an auxiliary transmission 4 is feedback controlled so that a gear ratio progress Gm of a main transmission 3 and the gear ratio progress Gs of the auxiliary transmission 4 follow a transmission progress target value M set in advance. Also, an initial pressure Psg of the engaging pressure Ps is corrected by learning control, while an engaging pressure Pm for engaging a third brake B3 of the main transmission 3 is corrected by learning control so that a transmission time T of the main transmission 3 becomes a target transmission time Tt. By this, transmission control by feedback control can be stabilized and responsiveness can be improved.
