To obtain a control device which enables proper improvement of safety of a leaning vehicle, and to obtain a control method.SOLUTION: In a control device (60) and a control method according to the invention, a control unit of the control device (60) can conduct a brake operation for increasing a brake force of a leaning vehicle (100) according to a possibility of a collision acquired based on an output result of an environment sensor (44), which is conducted under a situation that a brake operation is conducted by a rider of the leaning vehicle (100).
