Abstract:

To prevent a starting shortage at an extremely low temperature by controlling a generation time of an initial explosion by cutting an ignition of the cycle number of at least one cycle at the time of cranking of a direct injection in cylinder at the extremely low temperature and supplying a fuel to all cylinders during the ignition cutting.

In the case where an initial explosion is generated in No. 1 cylinder at the time of cranking of an engine 1, since No. 3 cylinder is already at a finishing time of a suction stroke and obtains a sufficient injection quantity, the No. 3 cylinder is normally ignited. However, at the time of an injection period of No. 4 cylinder, since an engine revolution number is increased, the injection period is shortened and an accidental fire may be generated. At the time of a starting at an extremely low temperature, for the time of at least one cycle before a generation of an initial explosion, an ignition is forbidden by an ECU 30 and a fuel injection into each cylinder is only carried out for the time period. After completion of the ignition cut cycle, the fuel injection and the ignition are carried out. A judgment revolution number for judging a starting mode and a mode after starting is set to approximately 2 times in comparison with a usual case.
