Abstract:

To reduce HC emission at a time of start and accelerate rise of exhaust gas temperature.

In a so-called cylinder injection engine capable of directly injecting fuel into a cylinder, throttle opening is set close to 10° and fuel injection is executed twice in a later half of compression stroke when a starter switch is turned on. Generated torque and rotation speed of the engine is controlled by changing primarily ignition timing and secondarily fuel injection timing after initial explosion. Exhaust gas temperature is raised by executing retard combustion by retarding ignition timing and fuel injection timing while keeping two injection in a compression stroke when the engine is shifted to a fast idling condition.
