Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compare a magnitude of an excitation current by using a common comparator independently of whether a sense voltage is positive or negative.SOLUTION: A drive device 100 comprises: a comparison part 20 that detects an excitation current flowing in a coil 6 by using a sense resistor 7, and compares a detected sense voltage IS with a reference value; a controller 40 that decides an operation mode of the drive device 100 on the basis of the comparison result; and a switch part 30 that switches the reference value depending on the decided operation mode. Thereby, the excitation current flows in the sense resistor 7 in a different direction depending on the operation mode, and a magnitude of the excitation current can be compared with the same reference current by using a common comparator even in a case where a polarity of the sense voltage IS changes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
