Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage due to overheat of a switching element of an inverter, when a motor of an electric motor vehicle is placed in a low speed high load operating condition.
SOLUTION: In driving of a motor 1 with power of a battery 3 by PWM- controlling an inverter 6, provided between the battery 3 and the motor 1, by a PWM control means 25, ordinarily in order to reduce switching noise of the inverter 6, a frequency of the PWM control means 25 is set higher than an audio frequency. A motor operating condition detection means 26 detects the motor 1 placed in a low speed high load operating condition, in the case of providing possibility overheating a switching element of the inverter 6, the frequency of the PWM control means 25 is decreased by a frequency change means 27, so as to prevent damage due to overheat of the switching element of the inverter 6.
