Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insure safety by judging whether a sensor detecting a shift position is normally operated or not, and when abnormality is judged, by stopping the control automatically stopping an engine.
SOLUTION: In a system in which an engine is automatically stopped at materializing an automatic stop condition, by changing a shift position from a drive position to a non-drive position, or the like, a controller 7 inputting a shift position signal (hereafter p-signal) from a shift position sensor 45 judges whether the p-signal is normal or not. Namely, when the condition in which the p-signal is not detected over a specified time (very short), the condition in which a plurality of p-signals are detected, or the condition in which the present condition of the vehicle conflicts with the p-signal, are satisfied, the p-signal is judged to be abnormal. At abnormality, the automatic stop control of the engine is stopped.
