To provide a control device of an engine which prevents the occurrence of thermal deterioration of an exhaust post-treatment device when stopping an engine having an exhaust post-treatment device in which exhaust emission control function is maintained by temperature rise or HC supply.
In order to maintain exhaust emission control function of an exhaust post-treatment device (28), the device is equipped with a regeneration means (42) for executing temperature rise of the exhaust post-treatment device (28) or HC supply to the exhaust post-treatment device (28) and with a control means (44) for maintaining the operation of an engine (1) until temperature of the exhaust post-treatment device (28) is determined to drop to a prescribed temperature or lower and stopping an engine (1) when the temperature of the exhaust post-treatment device (28) is determined to drop to the prescribed temperature or lower on the occasion when an ignition switch (50) is turned off during operation of an engine (1).
