Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further surely avoid occurrence of a torque shock at changeover to reduced-cylinder operation from full-cylinder operation.SOLUTION: When there is a changeover request to reduced-cylinder operation from full-cylinder operation, an opening 34a of a throttle valve is changed so that an air quantity sucked into each cylinder 2A to 2D becomes an air quantity at the reduced-cylinder operation which is larger than an air quantity at normal full-cylinder operation, performs preparation control for changing the ignition timing of ignition means to timing on a retard angle side rather than ignition timing at the normal full-cylinder operation so as to cancel an increase of engine torque which occurs accompanied with the opening change of the throttle valve, and starts the reduced-cylinder operation after the finish of the preparation control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
