PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter press dehydrator in which a filter cloth can be efficiently used by regulating a stop position of an endless filter cloth.SOLUTION: The filter press dehydrator includes: a plurality of filter plates 20 which are supported so as to be movable between a pressurized contact condition and a separated condition; a filter cloth 7 which is formed to an endless shape by joining both terminal parts of a base cloth formed in a belt shape at a joint 7c; a supporting mechanism 10 which supports the filter cloth 7 so as to be formable of a filtration chamber by holding the filter cloth 7 between respective filter plates 20 in the pressurized contact condition and further supports the filter cloth 7 so as to run by being separated from respective filter plates 20 in the separated condition; and a drive roller 6 which causes the filter cloth 7 supported by the supporting mechanism 10 to run. The filter press dehydrator further includes a position recognizing section 34 which recognizes a position of the joint 7c in the filter cloth 7 supported by the supporting mechanism 10 and a running controlling section 25 which causes the drive roller 6 to operate to cause the filter cloth 7 to run in the separated condition and which causes the joint 7c recognized by the position recognizing section 34 to stop the filter cloth 7 at a predetermined position except a position between filter plates 20.
