PURPOSE: To provide a fuel injection pump control device to control the rate and quantity of fuel injection so that they may be suited to the operating state of an engine without making the combustion efficiency of fuel worse.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel injection timing TAj is controlled so as to be near a target value TTj in a loop composed of S01 and S03. When the slippage of a prestroke term TAp from a target value TTp is judged in S05, the duty ratio Tduty of a signal to control a timer is altered to change the rising portion of a cam lift. The fuel injection timing TAj alters with the change of the rising portion, but is controlled so as to be near the target value TTj in a loop composed of S09 and S11 again. As the fuel injection timing TAj is kept near the target value TTj, the prestroke term TAp can be controlled so as to coincide with the target value.
