To provide a control device for a gaseous fuel internal combustion engine capable of appropriately performing fixation releasing of a fuel injection valve and of securely releasing the fixation state of the fuel injection valve while avoiding deterioration of startability.
Immediately after start of the engine, by increasing a peak current IP supplied to a drive coil of the fuel injection valve 6 and elongating time to continue the peak current IP, the treatment to release the fixation (freezing) state of the fuel injection valve 6 is executed (S15). Immediately after the execution of the fixation release treatment, a timer TMR2 is set for predetermined time T2 and started (S16), so as not to execute the fixation release treatment again before the predetermined time T2 passes (S14).
