To provide a control device for hybrid vehicle, capable of efficiently reducing vibration at startup by an electric motor.
A clutch is interposed between an engine and the electric motor, and a requested driving force is set based on accelerator opening and rotating speed of the electric motor. At starting a vehicle, the requested driving force is generated by the electric motor to start the vehicle, and when the requested driving force exceeds an upper limit of driving force generated by a motor, the clutch is connected to start the vehicle by the total driving force of the electric motor and the engine. The characteristic of a requested driving force setting means is set so that when the rotating speed of the electric motor is within a predetermined rotating speed range where the power transmission mechanism is apt to cause torsional vibration, the requested driving force is large at the same accelerator opening, compared with the case when a predetermined rotating speed is not obtained.
