Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend capacitor life while guaranteeing starter starting performance by selecting an engine start method based on capacitor temperature characteristic.SOLUTION: A drive system includes a starter motor, a lateral engine, and a motor/generator. A power supply system includes a high energy battery which is a power source of the motor/generator, and a capacitor which is a power source of a starter motor. An engine start method can include starter starting and M/G starting. In a control device of an FF plug-in hybrid vehicle, a hybrid control module for performing starter starting control permits starter starting when a capacitor temperature within a temperature range from a lower limit temperature that guarantees engine start response performance to an upper limit temperature that guarantees degradation advancement suppression performance, and prohibits starter starting when the capacitor temperature is outside the temperature range.
