PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the drop of the operability by a clutch slip without hurting a fuel consumption efficiency, in a hybrid vehicle with a constitution for switching the engine output to a motor output by an electromagnetic clutch.
SOLUTION: In this hybrid vehicle provided with a drive system having a motor for generating a running drive force and a continuously variable transmission, an electromagnetic clutch for transmitting the engine rotation to this drive system and a control circuit for controlling the continuously variable transmission, electromagnetic clutch, motor and engine output responding to a vehicular operation state, the control circuit is constituted so as to control the speed change ratio of the continuously variable transmission so as to reduce an engine torque when the capacity drop of the clutch is detected and be in the running state at the maximum efficiency point against the dropped engine torque.
