Abstract:

To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine with a turbocharger capable of properly performing the premature rising of the temperature of a catalyst immediately after the start of the engine.

The ending 1 comprises: a turbo side exhaust passage 7A for guiding the exhaust gas from a first exhaust port 5A to the upstream side of the turbine 22 of the turbocharger 20; a bypass side exhaust passage 7B for guiding the exhaust gas from a second exhaust port 5B to the downstream side of the turbine 22; and a hydraulically driven valve stop mechanism for changing over a turbo side exhaust valve 50A installed in the first exhaust port 5A to the opened/closed state or the closed state. The control device 100 holds the turbo side exhaust valve 50A in the closed state through a hydraulic pressure control for the valve stop mechanism until the temperature of the catalyst 9 is increased to a specified temperature or higher. When the request for stoppage of the engine is given, the control device stops the engine after performing the hydraulic pressure control for the valve stop mechanism in such a manner that the turbo side exhaust valve 50A is brought into the closed state.
