Abstract:

To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, not impairing drivability of a driver on condition that stable control is performed while avoiding the operating condition of a direct-injection engine by suppression of intake air volume.

This control device for a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine is provided with an accelerator opening detection means detecting an accelerator opening, a throttle valve adjusting the intake air volume, an intake air volume detection means detecting the adjusted intake air volume, and a temperature detection means detecting the intake air temperature of the internal combustion engine. The control device includes an air density calculation means calculating density of air sucked based on at least intake air temperature, a maximum target intake air volume calculation means calculating the maximum target intake air volume based on the air density, an accelerator opening ratio calculation means calculating an accelerator opening ratio with respect to the accelerator opening during a full open, a means calculating a target intake air volume by multiplying the maximum target intake air volume by the accelerator opening ratio, and a throttle valve control means controlling the throttle valve so that the intake air volume is set to the target intake air volume.
