Abstract:

To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, appropriately correcting the detected amount of exhaust gas recirculated to thereby appropriately control the internal combustion engine according to the amount of exhaust gas recirculated.

This control device 1 for the internal combustion engine 3 detects the amount of exhaust gas recirculated to an intake system 4 by exhaust gas recirculation amount detectors 23, 24 and controls the internal combustion engine 3 according to the detected amount QEGR of exhaust gas recirculated. Also, a combustion state parameter IGLACT representing a combustion state in a cylinder 3a is calculated based on cylinder internal pressure PCYL detected by a cylinder internal pressure detection means 21, and a reference combustion state parameter IGLES is estimated according to operating conditions NE, PMCMD of the internal combustion engine 3 detected by operating condition detection means 25, 26. Then, the detected amount of exhaust gas recirculated is corrected based on a correlated parameter DIGL as either of a difference and a ratio between the estimated reference combustion state parameter and the calculated combustion state parameter.
